ERGO selected for SiC’s competition

International Critics’ Week presents Géza M. Tóth’s latest animation, ERGO, on the Croisette. Year by year altogether seven shorts and seven first feature films are invited to the oldest parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival.

As it was revealed at the press conference held at the Cinemathéque Francaise in Paris, Géza M. Tóth’s latest animation is invited to the 47th Critics’ Week (Semaine Internationale de la Critique, SiC).
International Critics’ Week conceived by the French Union of Film Critics in 1962 introduces this year’ selection from 15th May in Cannes.

"Ergo is about the music in us, … about the monotony of freedom and the freedom of monotony" - tells the synopsis of the 12-minute-long work by Géza M. Tóth, director of Maestro (2005) nominated for the American Academy Award in 2007.
The international audience has the chance to see Ergo in Cannes for the first time.
The 3D animation was produced by Géza M. Tóth’s Kedd Animation Studios, and written, directed by Géza M. Tóth.

Géza M. Tóth (1970) teaches at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and also gives lectures as a guest teacher in London (Royal College of Art), in Tallinn (Estonia), in Ahmadabad (India) and at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy (Germany).
The Cannes premiere will be held between 15th and 23rd May with the personal presence of the director.
