You find the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery in Rosia Montana, Romania. The houses are centuries old. The people of the village are deeply attached to their land, their homes, their churches, their dead. The surrounding mountains hide 300 tons of gold and silver. This is the place where a Canadian corporation would like to open a new gold mine. They will use the latest technology for the open-cast mining. The people will be forced to leave their homes and move to new modern houses not far from here. There will be a tailing pond of 800 hectares containing cyanide and heavy metals, with a 180 m high dam.
There will be gold. There will be silver. There will be a New Eldorado.
Only the breathtakingly beautiful village of Rosia Montana will disappear…
