It is the time when traditional art forms meet the newest art from of that age the first time-film. In the opening wet shots of the film, Victor, the son of a photographer from Vác, falls in love with a dancer. Olga Marinetti, the deaf and dumb dancer, dreams of being able to reach the Metropolises of Europe with the help of Victor and film and so doing to captivate audiences with her performance of her special serpentine dance. Victor and his Kinema joins Doctor Giovanni, a travelling showman so that he can be near Olga and so that he can film her dance. Victor and Olga’s love, and the magic of the cinema destroy the finely balanced harmony of Doctor Giovanni’s company and Olga’s last, unforgettable performance leads to tragedy.
