”He who does not have his Zeitgeist, is stricken with all the miseries of his age” – quotes the gangster in the film from Voltaire.
The story happens here and now, where man does not count, being only a by-product of money. Anna meets her greatest love at Easter, but through her mafia-husband she got used to being wealthy and she cannot leave him for her ex-love, the poor teacher. There is no real choice here. The teacher who denies the Zeitgeist is shot to death, but so is the mafia-guy who followed the spirit of his age.
