The film discusses the turning point in the career of Istvan Kovács, alias Koko, a world- and Olympic champion of boxing. This is the point where many athletes at his level start organizing their retirement. Koko, who has won all possible prizes as an amateur, is now willing to start as a beginner once more. He takes the last place on the professional championship-table and starts to walk the road that may lead to the title of the professional world-champion. The film starts with his preparation for the 1997 Budapest world-championship and is followed by the finally successful tournament Then comes Hamburg where, in the second moment of the professional match, Koko’s first knock-out victory is born. The story is told in 12 rounds.
