One of us became an informer for the Hungarian secret service and went on to spy on private persons and intellectual groups over a period of more than twenty years. Quotations from these reports and various reminiscences evoke our ex-colleague, friend and relative, and unintentionally an era of not so long ago, when we were young, unsuspecting and unseeing. As a result, the film presents a complex, versatile picture in which people are not only pieces of information and stakeholders in reports but also active and reflective participants of an evocation.
