Hungary, 1942, World War II. Far from our land, on the Ukranian front, guns sound and soldiers die, but Budapest is still a city in a state of peace. The path of the popular actress-singer, Katalin Karády’s crosses with those of a general and her song-writer. Almost everything seems to work out: the lovers make peace and the poet survives all the dangers thrown at him. But then the Nazis occupy Hungary and the local fascists take over. Our three characters now walk an endless road together.
