This is an adventure film. I could go so far as to say it is an ideological adventure film, only one with real adventures, journeys, revolutions and wars, across countries and continents. There is a lot at stake: what will become of world revolution? What should become of a man, who was born in Latin-America, half Hungarian, half Spanish, half Catholic and half Jewish, but brought up purely as a communist? As a child he was forced to traverse half the world, and was steeped in the communism of Che Guevara and Salvator Allende before finding himself in the midst of the real communism of Hungary. The result is a revolution with no frontiers. What will happen when the world suddenly rids itself of Communism along with of all its ideologies? What will happen to those, who have already been cheated by history? What can the restless still believe in?Our protagonist traverses half the world again and arrives in the middle of the war in Croatia. In this film real people and events intermingle with fictional ones.So the story and the characters are nothing, but what I imagined.
