The strange almanac does not seem to have an author or a publisher and it describes what happens to the whole of humanity in the space of a minute. A police investigation begins and the bookshop staff are placed in solitary confinement by the Bureau for Paranormal Research (RDI Reality Defence Institute). The leader of the investigation is Phil Pitch, who has a reputation for uncovering fraudulent acts of the paranormal.
