László Szabó Studied at the Budapest Technical University from 1954 and acted with various amateur drama groups before failing to gain a place at the Academy of Performing Arts. Left Hungary for Paris in the autumn of 1956, where he made friends with French New Wave directors, took parts in several films and started directing as well. Has regularly been in Hungary since the seventies and has appeared in various significant parts.
