Ferenc Kardos

(1937, Galánta - 1999, Budapest)
He graduated from the Academy for Theatre and Film Arts as a director in 1961, in Félix Máriássy’s class. He was one of the founding members of the Béla Balázs Studio. He made his first feature film in collaboration with his class-mate, János Rózsa in 1965. In 1976 he was manager of the Objektív Film Studio and from 1992 he was managing director and producer of the Budapest Film Studio. He also moderated many television shows.
Awards: Béla Balázs Prize (1980), Merited Artist (1990)
