International Istanbul Short Film Festival has been organized since 1988. There is no competition in the international section of the festival.

The program covers fictional, experimentation films and animations. The films should be 35 mm or 16 mm with optical sound and English subtitles. It is preferable that the duration of the films does not exceed 20 minutes. Video films are not included in the program. 12.000 people enjoy the films each year.
